DIY: Cutout Tee

I recently was perusing Need Supply Co. and came across this little gem:


Now, $116 seemed a little steep for this cute little cutout, so I decided to take things into my own hands. I went to target and bought a $10 long black tee, and gathered a light colored pencil, a pair of sharp scissors, and a ruler. Basically, I drew a huge graph on the shirt using the ruler, and cut out sections based loosely on the pattern of the above shirt. I did this all with a glass of wine in hand, which didn't prove to be the best aid, but still produced a pretty awesome product:


As you can see, half way through I accidentally cut through the spine of the shirt. I think it still ended up looking good, but I would like to try again as well. Here are some photos of me in the shirt:
